What we collect

Depending on how you use the service, we may collect your name, telephone number, email address, property address and postcode, property/project information, timeframe, payment preference, decision-maker information, consent records, technical/source information associated with the enquiry and notes created while dealing with your request.

Why we use it

We use the information to receive and assess your enquiry, contact you about the request, verify project details, identify a potentially suitable participating specialist, arrange or manage an appointment, deal with questions/complaints and maintain records of the service.

Sharing with independent specialists

If your project is suitable and you have agreed to sharing, we may provide relevant enquiry and contact details to an independent specialist for the purpose of discussing, surveying and quoting for the project. We do not treat submission of the form as permission for unrelated marketing.

Participating specialists are separate businesses and are responsible for their own use of personal information once they receive it.

Lawful basis

We rely on appropriate UK data-protection lawful bases depending on the activity, including taking steps at your request to provide the introduction service, our legitimate interests in operating and safeguarding the service, and consent where we specifically ask for it. Where you consent to a particular sharing or contact activity, you can withdraw that consent for future processing by contacting us.

Service providers

We use service providers to host and operate the website, database, security and transactional email. These may include Cloudflare and Resend. They process information for us under their applicable terms and security arrangements.

How long we keep information

We aim not to keep personal information for longer than necessary. As a working policy, closed or unsuccessful homeowner enquiries are normally retained for up to 12 months unless a longer period is required for an active dispute, legal obligation, security issue or financial/accounting record. We will review this retention policy as the service develops.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct, erase or restrict personal information, object to certain processing, withdraw consent and complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. Contact us first if you would like us to deal with a request about your information.

Security

We use access controls, anti-bot protection and restricted administration tools to reduce unauthorised access. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

Marketing

We do not use the quotation request as a blanket opt-in to unrelated electronic marketing. If we introduce separate marketing in future, we will provide the appropriate choice and information.

Changes

We may update this notice as the service, suppliers or legal requirements change. The current version will be published on this page with an updated date.
