Edinburgh & the Lothians

Full roughcasting and rendering projects in Edinburgh.

For homeowners looking beyond a small patch: one or more complete elevations, or a full-property exterior replacement.

The wall condition matters more than the postcode.

Edinburgh has everything from traditional stone buildings and older rendered homes to modern estates. The useful quote is the one that explains what is actually on your wall, what has failed and what preparation the new system needs.

What should happen at the survey?

The surveyor should inspect the extent of cracking or hollow areas, identify the likely substrate, consider access and explain whether the existing finish is being stripped, repaired or prepared for a new system.

If you are changing the appearance of a property in a conservation area or working on a listed building, permissions may need checking before the specification is finalised.

Full wall versus whole house

Our current service accepts both. A single full gable or complete front/rear elevation can be a genuine major project even if the rest of the house is not being replaced.

Edinburgh roughcasting FAQs

Do you cover small render cracks and patching?

Our premium service focuses on at least one complete wall elevation or whole-property replacement rather than small patch repairs.

Can I request quotes for both roughcasting and a new roof?

Yes. Choose “Both” in the project checker and provide the details for each part of the project.

What if the property is in a conservation area?

External alterations can have additional planning considerations. Check the property’s status and discuss material/finish changes with the specialist and relevant council before work begins.
