Conservation and planning considerations
Fife Council notes that conservation areas have tighter controls on external alterations, and listed building consent is required for works affecting the character of listed buildings. If your reroof changes materials or appearance, check the property’s status early.

A standard reroof can begin in the mid-four figures, while larger or more complex roofs can be well into five figures. Slate, access and hidden timber repairs are among the biggest reasons totals diverge.
